Worms in Potted Plants
Worms often give trouble in potted plants. To get rid of them stand the
pots nearly rim deep in lime water once each week for three weeks.
Make this solution by slaking five pounds of quick lime in three
gallons of water, applying the water a little at a time till the
mass becomes crumbly and finally creamy, then adding the balance
of the water and stirring for several minutes. Allow the sediment
to settle overnight. Finally, decant the clear liquid into a wooden
tub for use. The solution may be used over and over, provided there
is enough of it.
