ENGLISH IVY--BRICK
English Ivy should NOT be allowed to grow on brick buildings as the roots
will eat away at the mortar, causing bricks to crumble and fall, especially
if the mortar has started to crumble.
As an alternative, Boston Ivy can be used IF vines are removed from
the buildings each spring.
ENGLISH IVY--OUTDOOR CARE
English Ivy groundcovers should be mowed with a mower set at its highest
setting in the early spring. Fertilize and water immediately after.
English Ivy should be planted in shaded locations that are protected
from winter winds and sun. Plants are slow to establish and fill in.
