TREES--DETERMINING SEXThe only way to determine the sex of a tree is to view the flowers when blooming.Male flowers will produce pollen when the blooms are shaken over a piece of black construction paper. Female flowers do not produce pollen when shaken. The stigma may appear shiny and sticky.
