BANANA--REFRIGERATOR

Bananas, as the old Chiquita song goes, will darken if placed in the refrigerator. But that's just the peel that darkens. The banana itself will not darken and may stay at the "ripe" stage for a little longer.
 

BANANA--RIPE

Bananas are ripe when the color is a bright yellow and the banana gives slightly when squeezed.
 

BANANA--SEEDS

The small seeds in most bananas are sterile and will not yield any banana trees when planted.
