NITROGEN

Nitrogen is instrumental in increase leaf and stem growth, as well as the plant's dark green color. Nitrogen also influences the crispness and quality of leaves as well as quick early growth in the spring.
 

NITROGEN--DEFICIENCY

Deficiency symptoms include a yellowing of foliage or a light green-yellow overall color. Plant growth is reduced and/or stunted.
