CHLOROPHYLL
Chlorophyll is the green pigment in leaves. Chlorophyll pigment is produced
in the chloroplasts of leaf, stem and flower cells. Chlorophyll pigment
dominates all other pigments present including the xanthophylls and carotenes.
Chlorophyll captures the sun's energy which is used to manufacture sugar
from carbon dioxide and water.
Chlorophylls are constantly being "used up" and thus are continually
manufacture by the plant, provided the environmental conditions are appropriate.
